see how the canine blends with her environment…
I realize that haven't included letters from Chip in a while, but she's been busy rec-creating, and sleeping, and being loved on. She doesn't have time to blog. I mean…come on! She's b-u-s-y.
And mostly, I had to post a new pic because I didn't really need to see that disturbing shot of me and Pete (taken later on tonight) because the proportions of my head were so wrong.
For the benefit of you non-Minnesotans, we did, in fact, get the storm of the week of the century. Holy snowblowers (and do I wish I had one about now? Um, yes) we got us some snow. Poor Chip can't even find a low enough ground level to drop the kids off at the....snow. I kept telling the kids to go out and make some snow angels.…just to give Chippie a poop pad. No such luck. So out I'll go later on and get horizontal in the snow. Sigh. Pet ownership is so hard.
In good news…the Pete Yorn tour bus made it to town. I know this because a) I stalk well, and b) he has a blog. Part of the state highway system were shut down over night. You know, that can wreak havoc on tour buses. But lo…the band blogged from Minneapolis. And they're here. Safe and sound.
In preparation for tonight's extravaganza, I just downloaded the Aqualung album, (see link at left) because they were good in Utah, and I'm guessing they'll be good tonight. Very nice music for working and chilling out.
Happy weekends. I'll tell Pete you all said, "Hi."

boy did we ever get lots of snow! i can't even get out of my driveway right now. have a great time tonight!

your wit should be presented on stage. You have such a way with what you think that makes me laugh out loud.

Cathy,
You are a breath of fresh air! I love to read about ordinary stuff from your perspective. You have such a way with words. I have been reading your blog regularly since you started up again and I love it. Thanks for taking the time to share it. I know how busy life is... I just barely find the time to read it...which is why I am even more thankful that you are doing what you are doing. We all have different gifts to offer this world, and you probably have no idea how much it means that you write and share all that you do. Have a fabulous time tonight! I think you're great! Thank You

A girl's gotta get her music fix, even when there's a blizzard. I'm a bit down the road from you, but I'm braving the southbound roads to see the Chili Peppers tonight! Woo hoo!

Wait! Chip is a girl? What on earth were her parents thinking? Chiparella? Chipison? Chiplyn? Oh the stress this poor dog must deal with on a daily basis...it's so good that you're willing to take her in and give her love in spite of her gender issues. ;-)

Sorry, I don't know who Pete Yorn is, but I know you'll have a super good time! Drive carefully! I have to attend my daughter's Hockey Regional Tournament in Bloomington - can't even stay home and look at the great whiteness.

Oh man I can just picture you dressed up in winter gear, making snow angels for Chip. That is true love. I don't do that for my dog.
I just downloaded some more Aqualung yesterday. Starting to really dig him!

We live in Nashville - my husband just flew in today for Minnesota Timberwolves - got totally lost downtown in the snowy muck. Loves his hotel though. Have a fabulous weekend. Glad you're blogging again!

I MISS LIVING IN MINNESOTA! I actually like all that snow and we don't have squat out here in Boston!
Do you have to "plug in your car"???

Oh Cathy you make me laugh - especially when you are the one brave enough to say out loud (or rather type out for the world to see!)what the rest of us are secretly thinking. And I have to say that I am so thick, that I didn't realise that you had been very trickily photo editing to get your photo with that Pete guy (whom I have never heard of but if you say he is cool, he must be so!)
wishin' for some of that cool snow over here in stinking hot north queensland, australia.

You do know that dogs can create their own pooping pad, don't you? No need for snow angels (unless you WANT to lie down in the snow :o)) My dog Lucy has created a whole road system in my backyard (the snow is taller than she is) so she can get to her favorite spots without any help from me!
Good luck with that snow angel thing, though LOL!

LOL, was actually wondering how Chip was.
It must be storm season, in both continents, cause man did we have a wopper tonight. Lightening coming every which way across the Lake, and Rain and wind like you wouldnt believe. More to come tommorrow we hear too.
Snow would be nice right now. It got to about 108F before the storm today........BLAH!
Enjoy Pete tonight.

Oh the life of a dog. I'm so jealous. How I would love to lie on a ginormous pillow and sleep the day away today! She's beautiful, by the way.
I hope you had a blast last night!
