bottoms up, whitnay
Welcome to another year in your 30s.
Go wish Tara a happy little day, if you're so inclined.
And PLEASE—FOR THE LOVE OF GOD—DO NOT make that soup i posted yesterday.
Parsnips=ewwwww. Got no love for the parsnip.
None.
Bottoms up! And may the Force be with you.

But I *heart* parsnips... especially (sp?) roasted with potatoes and carrots and pears and pork chops a la Jamie Oliver in the oven.... very good!
:)

dang! i really wanted to try that recipe! i'm not wild about parsnips, either. so, tell me, in your opinion, was it only the parsnips that were gross? would the soup be good if you just left out the parsnips & maybe added acorn squash in its place?

That is the best picture ever.
No love for the parsnips here either. Just nas-tee.

Thanks for the warning - I'm more of a potato or homemade chicken noodle soup girl, anyway. Unfortunately, I'm afraid my recipes would be far too many points for your current meal plan. ;)

I am a picky eater..I passed on the receipe.
If you like orzo, chicken and lemon. Try making avgolemono. It is just a great soup..I omit the egg from the receipe and it comes out so good..

Parsnips are only good when cooked all day with a pot roast....then they taste like the pot roast and not a parsnip.
Thanks for the heads up on Tara's birthday. I just met her so I appreciate the info.

Cathy--how is Tara doing? Doesn't she live close to San Diego? Or is she further up the coast? Just wondering how they are doing.

My dad fries parsnips... may not be weight watcher friendly, but it's a recipe I've carried on to married life. Little batter, little butter... mmmm. :) And roasting them with sweet potatoes, salted with olive oil. mmm. This said, I made a New England pot roast last week with parsnips and turnips... they were YUCKY!! :)
And, per last photo, kind of red wine?? :)

Tara's been on my mind, I know she lives where the fires are so I have been worried about my girl. Can you let her know we're thinking about her in Australia - we have these awful fires every summer and it's SCARY.

Cathy, if you email me, I've got some yummy soup recipes that come from a low fat cook book (though I don't always use the suggested low fat ingredients!). One in particular calls for sweet potatoes, but NO PARSNIPS!

Glad to see no bad tidings about tara... I was worried because her blog hasn't been updated recently....btw; parsnips can be really really good.....(when doused in butter, but then so is anything doused in butter...)

I agree. Parsnips are disgusting! I even tryed them again as an adult and I still think they are gross!!!!
