Holiday

Good morning, and a happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day to you.

Well… let's see then:

• Thanks for the comments on the video. Yes. I read them all and was highly entertained by them, as such.

• I have the day off from work today, and will be entertained by that, as such.

• I'm contemplating scrapbooking today. It probably won't happen, but... I do have my latest round of snapshots sorted into categories on the dining room table. Never say never.

• When I woke up yesterday, it was 10 degrees below zero. 10. Count 'em. Our high was like, 1. And yes, I am that old. Musing about the weather like that.

• I'm really proud to be married to a man who, when he goes grocery shopping, welcomes and accepts ALL yogurt:

Gayisokay_3
• Stacy Julian's new book, Photo Freedom, is available for pre-order at the Simple website. I'm a little biased, because I worked on this project very closely, but I can safely say it will change how your process works for the WAY better. Seriously. You can almost hear George Michael in the background, can't you? Freedom... I won't let you down.... Freedom... I'm going to be getting my hands on a few copies later this week and giving one away. Stay tuned.

• That is all.

I agree with you about Stacy's book. I have her last one and it has changed me already! I also took her BP class and plan on taking it again....her thoughts on scrapping are very uplifting and freeing. I can not wait to get my hands on her new book!!!!!!! Thanks for the info!!! Dawn H

Gotta wonder what gay yogurt is... oh well, if it's strawberry it must be delicious! It's about 19 here in Southern IN and it's killing me. I am NOT a winter loving human. When it's below 32 I get very grouchy. I should move to CA, but then I'd miss the corn fields and high humidity in summer so much.

Freedom? You too have hopped on the resurgent George Michael bandwagon! (he apparently plays a prominent role in this new show starting this week called 'Eli Stone'- the lead character has hallucinations that George is singing to him. And, yes, George is there on the show singing, yes, Freedom).

Dan will truly be seen to be progressive when he brings home the GLBT yogurt.

Oh my gosh, that yogart receipt is cracking me up!! Tooo funny!

Umm, ya, here in Phoenix... well, the temp is... you don't want to know. Let's just say... we're grilling.

So a container of yogurt is all your family needs to survive for the week? Maybe you should let DH do the shopping all the time...that would help with your weight loss goals ;)

I was just in Phoenix and my daughter said "it is NOT winter here" well it's not to us. Yesterday it was -22F here but it's warming up and today should be 20F, big jump. Love the heat, don't love the humidity.

Ohhhh, I WILL stay tuned for more info on Stacy's new book.

bright eyes? my grown kids have loved them for years! in fact, my granddaughter is named arienette amelie after bright eyes "arienette" (oh, stay with me arienette
until the wolves are away...) good stuff.

You don't want to know the temp here in Tucson either! ..

Last night I just remembered that DS had today off! .. I wonder what housework I can get him to do so I can scrap!????? ... He probably has his own agenda.....

Who knew the markets were so...progressive in MN?! I thought that the yogurt was only gay out here in CA. Actually I thought they only had yogurt like that for people of my persuasion if you get what I mean...and such.I thought I was born this way, but now I'm starting to think it was the yogurt! hmmm...
Have a great holiday!

lovin gay yogurt. :)

ROFLMBO about the gay yogurt - my 4 year old keeps asking me what is just SO funny! Okay, thanks for the laughter today - really needed it!

Wouldn't mind the yoghurt here in sunny South Africa! You should have seen my last till slip, It said, in red I kid you not, "pensioners discount", and I am not even 50 yet!!! Short of chewing off my wrists there is nothing much I can do about it, At least my 22yo son had a laugh, all the way home!! I have decided to do all my shopping at that particular shop - leaves me with more to buy scrapping stash!!

Thank you for the giggle on an otherwise mirth-less Monday morning. The gay yogurt thing -- yeah, that made me laugh out loud, for real. I'm intrigued. Perhaps it has something to do with the live cultures. Dunno.

I feel your pain about the -10 degree schtick. Here in SE WI, it was -9 when I woke up yesterday, and it didn't seem to improve much. My van did not start this morning, which sucks because I *do* have to work today. Grrrr. Anyhow . . .

Shivering along with you in Mpls. There's something wrong when you need to wear 3+ layers in your own house to stay warm! (And also when alcohol freezes on your porch!)

Love the receipt, too. I'll have to pay more attention to my receipts! My friend has a Walgreen's one that says, "Thanks for letting me serve you. Jesus."

Can't wait to find out more about the book, too. Stay warm on your day off!

Oh that receipt is too funny! And that Kowalski's is in my neighborhood!

You never fail to totally blog something that cracks me up and puts a smile on my face! I showed my DH your parody on "Crazy Cruise" and he even chuckled! TFS! Have an awesome MLK DAY!

What IS in that yogurt?
Super cold in Detroit, altho we are on the plus side, which is a plus, I suppose. I grumble about the weather and then grumble about the fact that I am old enough to care about the weather and that makes me grumble too. Happy holiday!

If only all yogurt could find a home as affirming and welcoming as yours. We can only pray.

I'm signing up for the book now 'cause I live in Kazakhstan (yes where minus 10 is he norm) and I will miss it because of the 12 hour time change. Shipping charges??? I will gladly pay them in fact I will fly home to get the book!!!!

LOL! gay yogurt!

You know whay it's gay yogurt, right?

Cause it's made with HOMOgenized milk ;)

LOL the gay yogurt...it's funny how they abbreviate on those receipts. One time I had a receipt that had "ass bags" on it (I purchased an assortment of gift bags)-LOL! Stay warm little chickadee & enjoy your day off. It's snowing here (don't know the temp) and so we slept in. I woke up at 10-ish and here is it, 11:05am and my teen & tween are STILL asleep. Love the day off when it's snowy or rainy. --The new book looks so good and looks like something that could really help me. I look forward to more info about it. Have a great day!! Signing off...

>>poof!<<

-10! hehehe

its -27 up here in Ottawa, Canada with the wind chill! YIKES it was a tough one getting out of bed this morning.

enjoy your day off, no Holiday up here in Canada!

So, I'm from northern Minnesota, and our high was maybe -16? windchill -35? yep, 1 is sounding pretty balmy to me! :) Kind of sad when the hockey arena is warmer inside than it is outside! I, too, loved your video and was laughing out loud, especially after watching the Tom Cruise video, which by the way, I had been avoiding until now. You crack me up!! Thank you! Long Live George Michael!

He Cathy

What kind of wife are you ????
Checking the grocery tickets !!!!
(sorry don't know if its the right word - i'm a Dutchy ;)
You've just got a "new" car !!! so relax lady ;) give the man a break !!!!

btw: i'm sure they dont't sell these kind of yoghurt's in our grocery markets.

And please, please, remember, that you have readers from all over the world (at least The Netherlands... ;) ) so please consider the different time-zones.

LOL about the grocery receipt :), have to wonder what type it might be!

And wow, I did not know about this book but you have gotten my so psyched about it now! --this looks like the answer to my biggest trouble with actually scrapbooking and getting things on paper, -the photos! I am a mess with their organization and seriously lack a good method for getting them sorted and printed and ready to use. Hoping this is the answer!
Have a great week!

I live in Maple Grove; when I went to church yesterday the bank next door said -20F. Yikes! But Minnesotans like being able to brag about how much we endure. Very funny receipt. I'm tempted to restock on yogurt just to see what it was.

ooh, yeah. i think that book falls firmly into the catgory of NEED. wouldn't you say?

Oh happy day! I just found out that you'll be at CKC Buffalo! Whoo-hoo!!!

Have you watched MASH lately? That is all.
The yogurt thing - so funny. Not that there's anything wrong with that, all I'm saying is, it's funny.

Gay yogurt...too funny! Thanks for the laugh this evening! :)

Oh, that is too funny!

Thanks for sharing a laugh today! :)

Your husband's credit card bill must look like mine with all those five dollar charges. Lol! I, too, am glad that he is an equal opportunity yogurt shopper.

Hey, Cathy. I just had to share the fun I had watching the video thing... I watched yours first and then Tom-o. It was really quite refreshing to see him do a CZ impersonation! ;)

Bwwaaaaaahhh : ) Gay yogurt...riot! I'm freezing my tahtahs off too : O

LOL!!! That grocery receipt cracked me up :)

Cathy... you have to see these Photoshop tutorials. This guy is HA-larious! You will love it!

http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/funny-photoshop-tutorials/

I live in Iowa, so I feel your pain on the weather....love, love, love the blog. I'm excited about the contest - watch the hit counter start to soar!!!!

forgot to ask you...when you miserating about the cold...did Dan remind you "yeah but it's a dry cold"? See I read your books cover to cover and definitely more than once.

Was I the only one not only amused by the name of the Yogurt but especially the fact that the man CHARGED it? LOL.

A new book from Stacy?! Hooray! I live for days like these... truly, I do. :) And you're probably saying to yourself, "Self, she has no life." And that would be correct. But, still, I heart books from the Simple Scrapbooks staff. :)

Laughing about the yogurt. Peeing about "O's" comment about "ass bags." Layout waiting on my other desk while I not only check out strangers' blogs, but even the comments! Not much weather to report here in Phoenix. Just sitting beneath the twirling ceiling fan. Bare feet. Lemonade would be nice right now. Hmmm... Over and out.

Pete Burns. He just confounds me. Like, I just can't not look at him. Not that I think he's a freak per se, but maybe a titch. Yet in a weird way, I admire him. Maybe it's just his fabulous hair? His house mates seemed to like it, AND be slightly nervous at the same time.

Seriously. Sing it, girl. I know that Jimmy Sommerville did a fun dancey cover, but you can't touch this. It makes me get up, and dance like an idiot in my office.

It drags a bit in the middle, but I just watched this and had tears in my eyes. Especially at the end. (Thanks, Krista!)
