You are a great friend to let the world know what a great person SJ is. O.K., lots of people already know. But, you're super and so is SJ, but we are dying to know where she's going....And you do have a great voice.

I guess this is a good time to tell YOU how much you changed my life...without going into details, I will say I attended 2 of your classes 2 years ago at the ScrapEtc. event in Birmingham, Alabama...an "inspiration weekend" it was called...lets just say YOU inspired ME beyond words...this is a very belated THANK YOU!

Cathy, you are a genius. And you have been holding back on me girl! You've been making fun of your singing voice for years, but that was VERY lovely! I mean it. And what a beautiful tribute. You really do rock, my friend.
Posted by: AngieLucas | March 24, 2008 at 11:54 AM
You and SJ grew up 10 miles apart???! What was in the water there??! Sometimes it's good to take time to thank people - I do it a LOT in my life and get some stick sometimes. Never done it with a Crowded House song ...but gonna nick that idea if that's ok?!!!
Posted by: Margaret C | March 24, 2008 at 12:30 PM
You. Are a treasure.
Posted by: Kirsten | March 24, 2008 at 12:56 PM

Ok, my kids think I am weird because I am tearing up with some lady on a video! You are a class act... I feel lucky to have found you (and actually meet and learn from you at a CKU). I look forward to continuing to see what you do- I think Stacy is lucky to have a friend like you.

WHA?
HUH?
I had to go to the SS site to find out WTH is UP WIT DIS?!?!
CZ (should I call you CZDESIGN?), you mean that SJ is the reason that you used to tell the Pokey Tail story?! :-D Now THAT will make a hundred women laugh like all get-out.
I know it.
I witnessed it.

Beautiful tribute. I'm crying. My BFF is moving far away in a week and this made me think of her, plus it gave me an idea (or two) of what I can do for her. So, thanks for that. Gotta go eat some Easter chocolate now. Blessings.

YOU are a good friend and funny, too. you always make me laugh my ass off...figuratively speaking of course otherwise you'd have the next diet fad! heather from snohomish, wa (mariner hs-pre "the hood" days rocks!)

You made me teary. You made me laugh. I so look foward to your witty blog entries. You have such a gift for telling stories about the day to day and if we lived in the same area we would have to be friends.
Posted by: tracy | March 24, 2008 at 04:15 PM
Nice tribute Cathy. We should all take note and make an effort to speak words like these everyday. Life can change in a second - for better or worse - and we need to let others know what they mean to us while we have a chance to tell them. BTW Cathy - you look GREAT!!
Posted by: Mimi2Quads | March 24, 2008 at 04:39 PM
Very sweet..I'm sure she's loving it! Oh, and I agree with Mimi2Quads - you look fantastic!

I love reading your blog. I just finished reading your book..ok, so I'm a bit slow....but as someone said..I HOPE there is something in the water!! I am an Everett girl too (although a tad older than both you and Stacy) I've been scrapping a short time but am hoping that whatever you 2 picked up rub off on me too so I can continue enjoying this fun new hobby I have found. I'm pretty pleased that Snohomish County can grow them like you 2.

i feel completely in the dark....
anyhoo--you do such a fantastic Stacy impersonation! If Simple were ever to do a roast for SJ--I think they should have you up on stage. The sunset thing--you were seriously killing me! and all i can say is the Lord works in mysterious ways.
Posted by: Alison | March 24, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Thanks for the tribute to Stacy. I'll continue to follow her work wherever she goes or whatever she does.
If at all possible, you really must go see Jesus Christ Superstar live. I dig out my DVD every Easter. I was fortunate enough to see the tour in the early 90's with the original movie actors reprising their roles as Jesus and Judas. Very moving and exciting show. I believe Madonna's mock crucifixion from her '06 tour was a direct ripoff of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Cathy - SJ will love this. It was wonderful of you to do this for her...most people don't get to show their gratitude until it's too late. Having said that...thank you for giving us something to look forward to every day with your blog (girl, sometimes you just make my day!)and with inspiration your work gives us to keep loving sb'ing and keeping it simple. You ROCK!!

HI Cathy!
What a lucky girl Stacy is to have YOU in her life too! She hit the jackpot when she picked you out of the crowd!
Posted by: Kelly | March 25, 2008 at 10:04 AM
I laughed, I cried, I would have bought the T-shirt. Good stuff. And hey, I was hanging out with the stoners too, oh but it was in Grapevine...not sure if you were here then. Thanks for making me be a little more reflective this morning.
Posted by: auntieanne | March 25, 2008 at 10:43 AM
CZ...you are the coolest person! My son even watched the video and said "funny lady come over to my house and play, please".

Seriously, I'm crying and the video wasn't even for me. So truly touching. It's a blessing to have a friendship like that.
TFS!

Okay, that was the most touching thing I have heard in a long time.
But, that being said, it got me to thinking...(dangerous I know, but it happens sometimes).
All of those wonderful things you said to Stacy about her changing your life, changing the way you think about things, the inspiration she is, etc...
well I'm here to tell you, that you Ms Zielske have done all of those things for me, so....
THANK YOU CATHY, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!
While you are thinking of Stacy, you can know that I am thinking of you.
Corny, but true!

ok, i don't think i've ever left you a comment before even though i secretly love you from afar, but this brought me out of lurkland.
i was recently asked to be a part of a design team and am over the moon. i am hopeful for the future and where this can lead - but even more than that, i am excited about the relationships this has brought into my life. i FELT your words to stacy and i am sure that she appreciates what an amazing friend she has in you. i would. i seriously said to my gf, "i need to be friends with this woman. STAT." ;)
okay, blah blah blah. thank you for sharing this with all of us. seriously. it's sweet and wonderful and inspiring.
Posted by: metrochic | March 25, 2008 at 07:08 PM
that was beautiful!
Posted by: telisj | March 25, 2008 at 08:43 PM
That was great, but can I say that you look incredibley stunning in that video! Wow!You go girl!
Posted by: Rita | March 26, 2008 at 09:30 PM
I don't really see you as a musical theater fan, but go to Itunes and get the song "Because I knew you" from the Broadway musical 'Wicked'. It is a beautiful song about two friends and it totally echos what you said in your video. It will make you cry if you really listen to the lyrics and think of your dear friend Stacy.
Posted by: katie h | March 27, 2008 at 10:08 AM
First - amazing tribute to your friend, second, one of my favorite songs of all time is Don't Dream it's Over. Thanks for sharing, brought a tear to my eye.
