ok the funniest thing - my phone rang when you were saying call me (of course it was my mother in law and not stacy julian but hey i thought it was pretty funny). loved the tribute - but where is stacy going?

2.

Cathy, you ROCK!! what an awesome tribute to friendship!!!

3.

I love this. I love how you presented it, I love the sincerity, and I think you have a lovely voice. I hadn't heard that Stacey is pursuing other things. she will be missed. I wish her the best.

4.

Nice heart-felt sentiments...love Simple...love Stacy's style...I am sure she'll stay in touch and go on to change the world some more...best of all was your singing/guitar playing...way to go!!! I always wanted to be able to play guitar...so, hmmm...you always give me something to think about Cathy!

5.

Here's to Stacy, CZ, and all the other scrappin' pioneers! thanks for all you've done for our humble little hobby! we love ya!

6.

Loved the message. Also, am soooo loving your hair. :)

7.

This is so neat. It is totally gonna make her bawl, and laugh, and bawl some more. What a neat friend you are.

8.

Dang... I got all teary-eyed. No, not when you were singing, although that might have been understandable.

KIDDING... you have a lovely voice.. :)

9.

You are a great friend to let the world know what a great person SJ is. O.K., lots of people already know. But, you're super and so is SJ, but we are dying to know where she's going....And you do have a great voice.

10.

I guess this is a good time to tell YOU how much you changed my life...without going into details, I will say I attended 2 of your classes 2 years ago at the ScrapEtc. event in Birmingham, Alabama...an "inspiration weekend" it was called...lets just say YOU inspired ME beyond words...this is a very belated THANK YOU!

11.

That was so nice Cathy. How cool would it be to have an Appreciation Week, not a day, a whole WEEK! I'm takng Library of Memories @ BPS this year and all I have to say is Fantastically Freeing!!

12.

you know, you rock. thanks for the smile.

13.

Thanks for the tribute Cathy! Lovin the musical tribute...;)
Thanks to you too for being an inspiration to us all too!

Hugs!

14.

Cathy, you are a genius. And you have been holding back on me girl! You've been making fun of your singing voice for years, but that was VERY lovely! I mean it. And what a beautiful tribute. You really do rock, my friend.

15.

You and SJ grew up 10 miles apart???! What was in the water there??! Sometimes it's good to take time to thank people - I do it a LOT in my life and get some stick sometimes. Never done it with a Crowded House song ...but gonna nick that idea if that's ok?!!!

16.

You. Are a treasure.

17.

What a fantastic tribute. You so Rock to take the time and leave such a special message for a friend.
But I am SOOOO freaking out! What do you mean that Stacy is going somewhere, where is she going? She can't go I haven't met her yet and it has always been a goal to meet Stacy. Geez first the 4lbs back on the scale this morn and now this. I HATE Mondays :(
Peace~
Rose

18.

Awww man - you got me all teary there, girlfriend. Very sweet tribute, and I know how much Stacy means to you. :)

19.

awww Cathy I love your singing voice and enjoyed your vidoe tribute to Stacy.

20.

I'm with Rose and freaking out Simple without STACY?

21.

Ok, my kids think I am weird because I am tearing up with some lady on a video! You are a class act... I feel lucky to have found you (and actually meet and learn from you at a CKU). I look forward to continuing to see what you do- I think Stacy is lucky to have a friend like you.

22.

WHA?
HUH?

I had to go to the SS site to find out WTH is UP WIT DIS?!?!

CZ (should I call you CZDESIGN?), you mean that SJ is the reason that you used to tell the Pokey Tail story?! :-D Now THAT will make a hundred women laugh like all get-out.

I know it.

I witnessed it.

23.

I laughed. And then, I cried. Very sweet and touching.

24.

Wow, that was beautiful.

25.

Beautiful tribute. I'm crying. My BFF is moving far away in a week and this made me think of her, plus it gave me an idea (or two) of what I can do for her. So, thanks for that. Gotta go eat some Easter chocolate now. Blessings.

26.

YOU are a good friend and funny, too. you always make me laugh my ass off...figuratively speaking of course otherwise you'd have the next diet fad! heather from snohomish, wa (mariner hs-pre "the hood" days rocks!)

27.

That was perfect Cathy! I had tears and guessed what the news was before following your link. Thank you!

28.

You made me teary. You made me laugh. I so look foward to your witty blog entries. You have such a gift for telling stories about the day to day and if we lived in the same area we would have to be friends.

29.

Nice tribute Cathy. We should all take note and make an effort to speak words like these everyday. Life can change in a second - for better or worse - and we need to let others know what they mean to us while we have a chance to tell them. BTW Cathy - you look GREAT!!

30.

Very sweet..I'm sure she's loving it! Oh, and I agree with Mimi2Quads - you look fantastic!

31.

I laughed, I cried, I know Stacy will too! You look fab! I love the hair!

32.

Nice touching post about a wonderful friendship that will last forever! So wonderful and nice to see! Kinda makes me think everyone should do it for their friends!!!!!

33.

I love reading your blog. I just finished reading your book..ok, so I'm a bit slow....but as someone said..I HOPE there is something in the water!! I am an Everett girl too (although a tad older than both you and Stacy) I've been scrapping a short time but am hoping that whatever you 2 picked up rub off on me too so I can continue enjoying this fun new hobby I have found. I'm pretty pleased that Snohomish County can grow them like you 2.

34.

i feel completely in the dark....

anyhoo--you do such a fantastic Stacy impersonation! If Simple were ever to do a roast for SJ--I think they should have you up on stage. The sunset thing--you were seriously killing me! and all i can say is the Lord works in mysterious ways.

35.

Thanks for the tribute to Stacy. I'll continue to follow her work wherever she goes or whatever she does.

If at all possible, you really must go see Jesus Christ Superstar live. I dig out my DVD every Easter. I was fortunate enough to see the tour in the early 90's with the original movie actors reprising their roles as Jesus and Judas. Very moving and exciting show. I believe Madonna's mock crucifixion from her '06 tour was a direct ripoff of Jesus Christ Superstar.

36.

oh she is so gonna cry over that and now we know you're a softie after all, you wont be able to act all tough now woman!! well, thank God for Stacy J because she brought you to us and then you came to see us and we're all better people for THAT coz you're hilarious and your husband is a spunk. (you so knew he was the kiwiscraps heartthrob, right?!?) we luv you Cathy xo

37.

Cathy - SJ will love this. It was wonderful of you to do this for her...most people don't get to show their gratitude until it's too late. Having said that...thank you for giving us something to look forward to every day with your blog (girl, sometimes you just make my day!)and with inspiration your work gives us to keep loving sb'ing and keeping it simple. You ROCK!!

38.

Great Tribute! We will all miss her!

39.

Where is Stacy going? I have not heard about it.

40.

Cathy that was a Wonderful Tribute and you look Wonderful...

41.

Cathy that was a Wonderful Tribute and you look Wonderful...

42.

HI Cathy!
What a lucky girl Stacy is to have YOU in her life too! She hit the jackpot when she picked you out of the crowd!

43.

I laughed, I cried, I would have bought the T-shirt. Good stuff. And hey, I was hanging out with the stoners too, oh but it was in Grapevine...not sure if you were here then. Thanks for making me be a little more reflective this morning.

44.

CZ...you are the coolest person! My son even watched the video and said "funny lady come over to my house and play, please".

FYI...sold my business last week. So excited!!!!

45.

I'm watching this great post you made for your friend and all I can think about is how great your hair looks!!!! I wonder what that says about me??

46.

Oh Cathy! You have wonderful singing voice (and speaking voice too!). Thanks for the smile you put on my face with this lovely tribute. Stacy totally changed the way I scrapbook, and guess what? So did you! You both rock. :)

47.

Seriously, I'm crying and the video wasn't even for me. So truly touching. It's a blessing to have a friendship like that.

TFS!
Sara

48.

Okay, that was the most touching thing I have heard in a long time.
But, that being said, it got me to thinking...(dangerous I know, but it happens sometimes).
All of those wonderful things you said to Stacy about her changing your life, changing the way you think about things, the inspiration she is, etc...
well I'm here to tell you, that you Ms Zielske have done all of those things for me, so....
THANK YOU CATHY, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!
While you are thinking of Stacy, you can know that I am thinking of you.
Corny, but true!

49.

CATHY!
I am feeling the love and admiration you have for Stacy...great job! I really like the way you put it out there...true & real, just like you!

50.

ok, i don't think i've ever left you a comment before even though i secretly love you from afar, but this brought me out of lurkland.

i was recently asked to be a part of a design team and am over the moon. i am hopeful for the future and where this can lead - but even more than that, i am excited about the relationships this has brought into my life. i FELT your words to stacy and i am sure that she appreciates what an amazing friend she has in you. i would. i seriously said to my gf, "i need to be friends with this woman. STAT." ;)

okay, blah blah blah. thank you for sharing this with all of us. seriously. it's sweet and wonderful and inspiring.

51.

that was beautiful!

52.

That was great, but can I say that you look incredibley stunning in that video! Wow!You go girl!

53.

I don't really see you as a musical theater fan, but go to Itunes and get the song "Because I knew you" from the Broadway musical 'Wicked'. It is a beautiful song about two friends and it totally echos what you said in your video. It will make you cry if you really listen to the lyrics and think of your dear friend Stacy.

54.

First - amazing tribute to your friend, second, one of my favorite songs of all time is Don't Dream it's Over. Thanks for sharing, brought a tear to my eye.
