Orbshot

Went to Chicago. Took this shot. And saw Neil Finn. Now how's THAT for a recap?

(Shot taken in the giant silver orb thing. I do not actually believe I'm that large, but beliefs and reality sometimes clash.)

Enjoy 43 seconds of Neil. I will be back when my personality is officially found.

That "big silver orb thing" is, I think, a gigantic metal sculpture in Millennium Park called the "Cloud Gate." But everyone refers to it as "The Bean." I love that Bean. And your shot is really swell, with the rain and all. (You must have been there on Sunday!)

I love the photo!! I have a very similar jacket. Was Neil everything you thought he would be and more?

Blame it on the rounding properties of the orb
and the wind
and the rain.
You are still the coolest chica around!

ahhh it is a relief to see it was raining in chicago as well as here in oregon... it's a personal thing so don't ponder the thought too long :) i am loving your blog and smart aleck ways! that's a compliment i hope you know :)
your friend, bird tweet robin from down the road

LOVE the photo! :)

aww, how sweet is your Dan all snuggled in close and holding the brelly over the both of you.

Cathy, l was at that orb thing (aka the Bean) on Saturday with my family. Being Aussies and married to one crazy Crowded House fan we flew up to Chicago just to see them. Well worth the trip, loved their new songs and hearing some old ones aswell. Now my hubby just can't wait for the album to come out.Did you get to see them after the show? I read that they came out and signed autographs and took some photos with the fans, so bummed we missed out, definatley next time!

diet? um, hello?!

take another look at that photo... you have teeny wrists girlfriend, TEENY.

I believe it is a documented fact that "the bean" adds 45 pounds. At least that's what I have heard and I believe every word of it.

i hope you know that guy behind you. :0)

I saw Crowded House when they came to the Boston area on May 5 and was blown away, as usual (we saw them last summer as well, and I have seen Neil solo a few times.) I think you and I will have to share the title for Neil's biggest fan--I might even one up you on that one as I named my son Finn after him.

They did an especially cool impromptu medley of songs with people's names in them, including "Mary of the South Sea," "I Love You Dawn," Lester," and a personal favorite, "Catherine Wheels." It was awesome.

After the show, we went out back and got to meet the boys. They were gracious and kind, even though I blathered like an idiot. Neil was a bit confused and humored when I told him my wedding song was "Into Temptation" but was glad that it was working for us. (Yeah I know--lyrically it's a bit weird for a wedding but such a beautiful song, and it's ours!)

Liam opened for CH last summer and I also fell immediately in love with his music. I still can't hear "Second Chance" without a little thrill. And I have an age-inappropriate crush that amuses my husband to no end.

I tell you, Cathy, musically you and I remain soul sisters.

Pete Burns. He just confounds me. Like, I just can't not look at him. Not that I think he's a freak per se, but maybe a titch. Yet in a weird way, I admire him. Maybe it's just his fabulous hair? His house mates seemed to like it, AND be slightly nervous at the same time.

Seriously. Sing it, girl. I know that Jimmy Sommerville did a fun dancey cover, but you can't touch this. It makes me get up, and dance like an idiot in my office.

It drags a bit in the middle, but I just watched this and had tears in my eyes. Especially at the end. (Thanks, Krista!)

The fact that a) this is real and b) one of their offices is in my hometown, make me want to move there and buy my car insurance from them. (Thanks, Mr. Landin)
