UPDATE: We have two winners!
Random Integer spit out the following numbers: 444 and 530. When I put the list into a word doc, those numbers gave me the following two women:
444—Victoria
I am currently *trying* to create a mini album as a gift and I am having a hard time making it flow. I sure could use this book. Please enter me in the drawing. Thanks!
530—Naomi
I am loving it!!!
Ladies, please email me a czdesign@comcast.net so I can get your mailing addresses and send out your special issues and buttons!
Thanks to everyone for entering!
Have you heard about Simple's newest special issue, Mini Albums in an Evening? Aside from the fact that I designed it, and it's SUPER cute, it's a really cool new special issue that features mini albums that you can, well, make in a evening, and they are some of the coolest, most do-able little projects out there.
The projects are divided into three categorys: Bitty Minis (ranging in size from 1 x 2 to 3 x 7); Mid-Size Minis ((ranging in size from 4 x 5 to 5 x 7); and Mega Minis ((ranging in size from 3 x 9 to 8 x 9).
I did a holiday album as my little contribution to the Mega Mini's section. Want to see?
A few of the inside pages: (click to see them larger in a new window)
This album idea lets you take 10 holiday memories, paired with ten 4 x 6 photos, to create a quick snapshot of your favorite holiday stuff. The other cool thing? You can download portions for the title page, album window, and the small square numbers. You'll have to create your own 7 x 7 journaling block, or you can simply handwrite it as well. The album page size is 8 x 8. You can download the PDF title and block template here.
I used an American Crafts album and BasicGrey's Blitzen line of papers to complete my album.
But enough of my yakkin'! I've got two copies to give away. And not just two copies, but super cute little matching "Mini is Big" mini buttons, to go with it. Who doesn't love mini buttons, really?
Leave your name in the comments and I will draw two winners sometime tonight after 9 p.m. CST.
Sound good?

Now for those of you who asked questions about my class at BigPictureScrapbooking, here are a few answers, the most critical being: THERE IS NO CLASS LIMIT! DO NOT take the day off of work to try and get a spot. Please. You shouldn't lose your job in the name of making well designed pages! Here are my answers in more detail:
1. Is registration limited? No. It’s open to everyone and anyone. We’re not limiting it. This means, you don’t have to worry about not getting a spot in the class! And yes, you really do have until October to sign up.
2. Are there specific fonts you need to have? Nope. All digital downloads will have outlined type, type that has been converted to a universal graphic format. You won’t need to have the type I use.
3. I sooo want to take your class, but am a computer-illiterate. Do you have a link where I can learn to make text boxes? To answer the “I don’t know how to make text boxes” question in general, i’m happy to upload a tutorial to the blog in the next few weeks, but it will only apply to Microsoft Word. You can also use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to add text to a layout as well. I simply want people to be able to do it, if they want to add computer journaling to their layouts. Keep in mind: we will be using our handwriting on layout assignments! I’m not just a type on girl these days! Keep an eye out for a Word text box tutorial coming soon.
4. I like to scrap digitally. Can I still do that with your class? Absolutely. You can convert my digital download elements using Photoshop if you like. All the principles and assignments can apply to digital as well. You will simply need to adapt the class content to a digital workflow. Because students will be using their own supplies to create layout assignments, this applies also to digital designers.
5. Do I need a new binder for class layouts or can I just incorporate the assignments into my own system? No, you don’t need a new binder at all. BigPicture always encourages students to save money and substitute their own supplies. You can store your assignments in your existing albums.
6. My baby is due in November. Could I see later the courses I eventually missed? Yes, but only if you promise to name your baby ‘Cathy.” Actually, you can download all of the class assignments, in PDF format, and come back to them at a later time. I’m even planning to make my audio/slide show presentations into PDFs so students can save and download those as well.
7. Probably a dumb question but....I have a full color laser printer - will that work? (My actual photo printer is a Picture Mate and only prints 4 x 6). Do you use your laser printer for your scrapbooking projects? If you do, then I would say it’s fine. The only thing I would be concerned about is that laser print ink can come off of cardstock. But that might not be the case with today’s more sophisticated laser printers. Ink jet printers put the ink Into the paper, not on the surface of the paper, therefore, what gets printed, stays printed. You are welcome to try it out.
8. This is a reply for Anne: Hey Anne, It’s not hard to learn how to post to a gallery, or how to use text boxes in say, Word, for example. But you will have to know how to do them. We are trying to make sure students will be fully prepared to have the optimum online experience. One thing that will be good for you in this class is we are doing layout assignments based on my designs. You will follow my sketches, which should make designing easier for you. However, you will have to choose your own products and supplies. I just want people to have fun and not be stressed out. You have until Oct 2 to register. That’s a good chunk of time to learn how to do those things, if you are so motivated!
Please read the Big Picture FAQ again for how an online class there works if you are new to online education. And if there are any other questions, email me at czdesign@comcast.net and i will get back to you as soon as i am able to. : )
