I used to love to play with my cabbage patch kid. I loved that doll!!!
Star
I love your blog--you always make me LOL.
My favorite toy as a young child was my Drowsie doll. I took that pink, polka dotted thing everywhere.
I loved to play with paper......and scissors......and glue.......and stickers.......and paint........and pens.......and ..... Guess what?? I STILL DO!! :)
Cabbage Patch Kids and Barbies are what I remember the most. And I still play with them today with my 3 1/2 year old daughter!
Ladies, you make me feel like a little girl! Email me at czdesign@comcast.net with your mailing addresses and I'll get those special issues sent out!
In case you're wondering what my favorite was from childhood?
Oh, that is SUPER easy. I had this EXACT item, purchased from the downtown JC Penney store in Everett, Washington.
And you know what? As soon as I figured out that the driveway of the house I grew up in was made up of loose gravel, it inspired me to build an entire pet rock orphanage in my bedroom. I even re-created a scene from The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (starring John Travolta and Glynnis O'Connor as you may remember) where one of my rocks suffered from the same immune system disorder and had to live his entire life behind plastic. In order to go out with the other rocks from the orphanage, he had to be transported inside a plastic dome, the kind that the 25 cent toys came in, and the dome was hooked up to a pretend air purification generator.
Sometimes I don't really have to think too hard when wondering where my kids come up with some of their crazy ideas. You didn't see Dan playing with no driveway rocks. That's all I'm sayin'.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
